Bonjour everyone! Sorry for the sudden absence, but I traveled on holiday last week and thought that blogging will be a breeze over here. It’s not that the process is difficult, but I’ve just been extremely busy! Being a tourist is super exhausting!
I also spent a week before my flight obsessively worried and stressed out (I have a fear of flying) and after reaching my destination (Switzerland & France), I spent days recovering from the accumulated stress.
I’ll have to make a stronger commitment to blogging while I’m here, but I won’t make any promises!

I wear sweaters in the summer. I wear them regardless of the season. They’re comfy, they’re flattering and they’re always in fashion.
But what do you do when the weather gets too hot for a sweater? Wear light, sheer or loosely knit ones. The more holes in them, the better!
I like how Free People styled these summery sweaters. I know I’m not going to be running around trouser-less, but you get the idea!
So it’s been announced: VERSACE for H&M will be the next designer collaboration with the popular high street store!
The clothing line is described as “glamorous rock 'n roll” and will include signature Versace touches in gold, leather and colorful prints for both men and women. The collaboration will also include jewelry, accessories and home items (such as cushions and bed linens).
The collection will be available starting November 17th 2011 in most H&M stores worldwide – as well as online.
Watch Donatella Versace describe the collection.
PS. Only one person who participated in the H&M collaboration competition got it right (before the deadline)!

These Maribelle Campa bangles, which I am completely loving at the moment, are the perfect accessory. They can instantly add style to your wrists – giving that piled together look. They’re made of soft Greek leather cord and each set contains 12 bangles, with an oxidized, silver or gold plated tube. They come in many colors like nude, green, orange, turquoise.
Earlier this year, H&M collaborated with Lanvin in a collection that sold out within minutes of debuting.
For those of you who missed out, it’s never too late! H&M designer collaborations are still going strong. The next one is yet to be announced and here’s a chance to WIN A PIECE BEFORE THEY EVEN HIT THE STORES!
All you have to do is guess who the next designer collaboration for H&M is and LEAVE A COMMENT ON THIS POST with your answer.
The winner* will get a gift from that designer collection as soon as it debuts!
The designer collaboration will be announced on June 21st.
*The winner will be the first person who answers correctly.
**UPDATE: The competition is closed as of 12:00pm KWT time 21/06/2011**

I recently discovered a beautiful creamy chicken pasta from Little Ruby’s. It is amaaazing – with hints of lemon and truffle. I’ve had it twice this week! It’s not doing good things to my waistline, but it does wonders to my tastebuds!
Today, we’re shooting a lookbook for one of my favorite Kuwaiti designers. Her designs are absolutely beautiful, and rival those of some of the top international designer brands. Can’t wait to show you guys the final shots!

Refinery29 posted the Top Nail Polish Trends of 2011, which I thought were really accurate. They include Nudes, Blues, Peaches, Lavenders, Grays, and textured Topcoats (Shimmer, Cracked, Glitter).
I myself indulged in the Peaches trend, as well as some Grays a couple of times. I’ve always loved pinks and nudes, and always will. I never tried the textured topcoats – they’re not me at all.
How about you? What are your favorite nail polish trends?
I don’t know how they slipped under my radar because these Kenzo Macaron Bags are as delicious as their name sounds!
They’re not too expensive as far as designer brands go. The solid color and printed ones range from around $280 to $325, while the embroidered ones are a whopping $1100+.

How cool are these Block Sticky Notes! They remind me of one of my favorite games ever: Tetris. This will make posting notes over fridges and walls so much fun!

Angel faced model Lily Donaldson looks absolutely glowing in Monsoon’s Spring/Summer 2011 Ad Campaign. Photographed by Camila Akrans and styled by Simon Robins, the shoot is such a summery dream! It’s very fresh and light and ethereal.
Those who know me, know very well how much I ADORE Lily, and how I lust after Akrans photography. I would love to work with her one day!

I realize that I’ve neglected my blog quite a lot this week. I must admit that I was playing with my new iPad, which currently has nothing on it except the Net-a-Porter App and Fruit Ninja! I was also swamped with events every single day of the week, including my baby brother’s high school graduation. It was bittersweet, to say the least.
I did manage to surf the web (do people still say that anymore?) and found some pretty cool stuff..

What a lovely, whimsical and fun photo. I thought it would be fun to share it. The letters look like tiny ants falling off the page..
“Toy Stories” by designer & illustrator Aled Lewis, is a really fun AND funny collection of prints. Lewis arranges small toys and inserts a speech bubble to create a funny story.
You can purchase the prints at inPRNT.
It’s been 2 years since I first started writing, then editing, then doing all sorts of fun things at Khaleejesque. It feels like it was just days ago when this almost blog-like (back then!) webzine was starting out.
What started off as a duo on their laptops, working with a virtual team of writers, expanded to a slightly bigger team (meeting frequently at our favorite coffee shop!) and then to a full-time team based in a brand new shiny office!
I’ve always had high hopes for the magazine, but I had no idea how completely educational and inspiring the whole process was! Not to mention how fun it is working with such a wonderful team.
We are so proud of everything we’ve accomplished. The site has promoted various regional initiatives, exposed interesting personalities, and connected the six Gulf States in a way no local website has done so before. And that’s why our recognition continues to grow regionally and internationally.
Right now, we’re working on launching a new media company, a creative agency and soon a series of printed collectible issues! It’s a lot on our plate, but we can’t wait to dig in!
This will make typing a million times more fun! Plus it’s so pretty to look at. GENIUS.

How was your week, folks? Mine was, well, hectic to say the least! The upside is I got a lovely (if I do say so myself) new hair color. It’s sort of lighter on top, and the bottom layers are slightly darker. I requested that – I think it gives hair more depth. Plus, I like to go lighter in the summer.
In other news, our little baby Khaleejesque turned 2 years old on June 1st. We’re working on a great anniversary issue for this Sunday. It’s filled with the most interesting personalities in the Gulf, as well as lot’s of fun features. Check it out this Sunday!

I don’t think this picture needs an explanation, but if you want one, here goes: This girl added a white tee to a glamorous long black skirt and made an awesomely stylish combination!
