Today marks 20 years since Kuwait’s liberation from the Iraqi invasion. It feels like the ordeal was ages ago, yet it also feels like it was just yesterday.
Thank you God, and thank you to everyone who made that day possible. Our allies, our neighboring Gulf countries, but most of all to the courageous Kuwaiti people, who went through the darkest days (literally, the sky was filled with black clouds – a result of the oil rigs that were set on fire by the invading army) and yet never gave up hope. I’m so SO proud of them!
Happy Liberation Day!

Today is the 50th anniversary of Kuwait’s Independence Day (also known as National Day). In honor of this anniversary, the country is throwing one of the biggest- if not THE biggest - festivities in its history!
I love you, Kuwait.
I’m so proud of being from you and a part of you. May God bless you and keep you safe. And may you forever remain that beautiful, shining Pearl of the Gulf.

I absolutely adore oversized – no, SUPERSIZED – sweaters on girls. Especially when paired with skinny jeans. They’re flattering, and look like you put minimal effort into an outfit. Stripes are always a plus in my book too. And don’t even get me started on that bag. I neeeeeed it like you can’t imagine!

Head over heels in love with ALL the jewelry by Jacquie Aiche. Especially the Rocks & Minerals collection. The rough looking stones on the necklaces, the edgy yet stunning rings, all of it!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this collection by Leila Shams. I came across the brand via Monica Rose’s blog. The Spring 2011 collection, called Freak of Nature, is amazing. I’d literally like to own every single piece. Really flattering on the body, and so stylish - absolutely eye-catching designs.
I adore the tribal influences. As you may have noticed, I’m really into tribal touches and accessories right now. Fringe, bold prints, stacked bracelets, layers, I waaaaanntttt!
Check out the full collection HERE.
This print by Julianna Swaney is called Collection, but I prefer calling it “The Butterfly Girl”. I like the expression on the girl. It’s so funny – like she’s giving the side eye to someone. But mostly, I love that she’s surrounded by framed butterflies..
Gorgeous gems from Mociun. They’re delicate but have enough color to stand out along a neckline.

Please take a few seconds to vote on this very short poll on the right.
Every once in a while, I like to ask my readers what they like to see more of on this blog. I blog because I like it, and I only post about things I love or that have caught my eye. But honestly half the excitement of blogging, is the interaction and feedback I get from you guys.
If you’d like to elaborate more or suggest some ideas, please do so in the comments. I’d truly appreciate it. Thanks!
CRAVING these delicious Analeena Micro Clutches. The luxurious crocodile skin clutches are divine and so "yummy”. I wouldn’t mind getting all of those colors. I’ll be set for life!

Wouldn’t you love to be as beautiful and happy a couple as they are at that age?
*big sigh*

Once upon a time, I dreamed of being a ballerina. I thought it was the most beautiful and feminine “jobs” a girl could have. After watching Black Swan last month, I completely changed my mind! I didn’t realize how tough it was!
The Ballerina Project evokes the more beautiful and less painful aspects to ballet. Shot in NYC, “each photograph is a collaborative work of dance, fashion design and photography played out against the city's landscape”.
Visit the Ballerina Project for more photos.
When you first glance at the photographs in Cheryl Maeder’s Dreamscape Series you unintentionally, find yourself squinting, trying to focus on the picture, until you realize that it’s meant to be that way. It sort of blurs the line between a painting and a photograph.
Maeder found that “photographing in the impressionistic style causes the viewer to see the entire image with its palette of colors, form & light creating a mood, an emotion.” I see her point.

Definitely loving the Zodiac necklaces by Kimberly Baker (available in all star signs – pictured above is the Libra). Each 18kt Rose Gold necklace is engraved with its corresponding Zodiac star pattern and hung from a 16 inch rose gold chain.
For their February 2011 issue, Harper’s Bazaar UK introduces us to the best of the Spring/Summer 2011 runway collections. Modeled by Ruby Aldridge, photographed by Norbert Schoerner and styled by Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou, the editorial is nothing short of striking.
The whole setting seems very Palm Springs with touches of retro. I’m in LOVE with the location; the house, the pool, the grass.. There’s also quite a somber mood about the photos.. I do like the brunette hair with the dresses. It makes them stand out more.
I couldn’t put up all the photos from the editorial – there were too many – so go see the full editorial here.
