RAMADHAN MUBARAK!

Hello everyone! Ramadhan Mubarak to all of you who are celebrating it. I'm so sorry for being M.I.A from the blog - it feels like ages! - but my schedule has been completely disorganized since the start of Ramadhan. I've been staying up late, and waking up even later. I'm feeling sluggish and fatigued from fasting that everything feels like a chore. And to top it all off, our internet connection is so messed up that whenever I get the chance to sit and blog, the connection disappears.

So until I get everything sorted out, posting will be a bit sparse. In the meantime, I do wish you'd do some lovely reading. Khaleejesque has some superb articles that I know many of you will enjoy (Ramadhan related and others as well).

My dad is the most serious man on the planet. My mom is the biggest joker in the universe. They are complete and utter polar opposites.

How these two got together and stayed together for 27 years is beyond me! But I’m so glad they did..

PYJAMAS, PAJAMAS

I’m so glad pyjamas (pajamas if that’s how you roll) are meant for sleeping in. Because if not, then I would be on the worst-dressed list of every type of list possible. I don’t even own a pair or a set. I own different tops - most of them old t-shirts that I stopped wearing out or freebie gigantic tees – and shorts or cotton sweatpants that used to be meant for exercising. I do have a couple of cotton short night gowns that are perfect for the summer, but they’re like 2 or 3.

Lately, I’ve taken to wearing a white cotton robe at home that I got from M&S. It’s very simple and yet stylish enough to hide the unflattering garments I’m wearing underneath. Oh, what I would give to look like Bianca Balti in this Elle Italia March 2009 editorial. *sigh*

REMEMBERING AUGUST 2

On August 2, 1990, Kuwait was invaded by Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi regime. A war took place that lasted for 7 months.

I’d like to take a moment to remember those we lost, those who were hurt and all of our allies who risked their lives in defense of this country.

Wars are terrible, terrible things. And although its been 19 years since the Gulf War, I can still remember it like it just happened last year.

I wish everyone all the best. I hope you live long and prosperous lives, filled with love, laughter and most of all.. peace.

THIS IS MAKE BELIEVE

Make Believe is a jewelry label founded by Amber and Ebony, two creative gals that met in Tokyo. Their designs are inspired, among other things, by art, music, design and Japan.

Their Petal to the Metal collection uses glossy resin roses attached to bold gold-plated chains. It’s very rock and rose (pardon me, couldn’t help it). The roses come in pink, black, white and blue – but I only found white, pink and black.

My feelings for these necklaces? Definitely not make believe.
