Can we take a minute to talk about the stage? Why was it so tiny?? And why were the attendants/nominees sitting so close to the stage? Meryl Streep, who was sitting on the front row, could have touched the stage with her toes if she stretched out her legs. The atmosphere felt cozy and warm, which is NOT how the Oscars should be! It should be GLAM!
The show was presented by Hugh Jackman, who did a fabulous job. I heart Hugh! I liked the idea that the acting awards were presented by previous Oscar winners (surprise presenters like Jennifer Aniston, Shirley Maclaine, Sophia Lauren, Nicole Kidman, Ben Kingsley and a HIGHLARIOUS Ben Stiller) in that same category, but I think it took some time because each presenter took a moment to talk about each nominee in that role. The other award categories were presented in different ways related to the category. But it just made everything less organized and all over the place. There was a Broadway-style performance by Beyonce, Hugh Jackman, Vanessa Hudgens, Zack Efron, Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper. It was entertaining, but not so much. I also think Beyonce has been used one too many times at award shows, so I’m kinda bored of seeing her.
Now, onto the fashion!

Alicia Keys in Armani Prive – The lilac color is gorgeous on her, and the style is very well fit. Her hair is gorgeous too, though her makeup looked slightly oily.
Amanda Seyfried in Valentino Haute Couture – She looks beautiful. The dress looks a bit like it’s not fitted well. Excellent hair and makeup.

Amy Adams in Carolina Herrera – I didn’t like the lines on the bodice. I really liked her necklace, though I think it would have looked better on another dress.
Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab – She went for something safe and PLAIN, but damn the woman is gorgeous! Her hair and makeup were perfection, and those emerald earrings really bring out her features.

Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive – All together, she looks quite lovely. But I thought she would push the boundaries a bit more for this event. Unfortunately, she went the safe route and opted for something classic.
Beyonce in House of Dereon – I want to say she looks good, and she does, but there is something so wrong with this dress. It looks slightly tight no? Enough with the mermaid silhouettes already! I also wish she had on a red lipstick.

Diane Lane in Dolce & Gabbana – I hope I’m as beautiful as her when I reach her age. Diane always looks so classy and beautiful.
Evan Rachel Wood in Elie Saab – She looks so monochromatic! But nevertheless, she still looks glamorous.. so flossy flossaay.. (couldn’t resist)

Freida Pinto in John Galliano – I L.O.V.E this dress. I want it! I’ve wanted it since I first laid eyes on it. I think the sleeve is what does it for me, and I think its a love it or leave it situation. It’s too bad that it’s supposed to be tight-fitted, and on her it’s somewhat loose!
Heidi Klum in RM by Roland Mouret – Heidi, you are gorgeous, you are stunning, your dress is shiny, and awful. I feel bad saying this!

Jennifer Aniston in Valentino – She looked so nervous when she was on stage! She stumbled through her lines at times. She had a side braid on, which was very California-hippie, but it didn’t suit the Oscars or her dress. She should have tried harder – cause you know Brangelina were there!
Jessica Biel in Prada – She looks like she’s wearing a very cheap restaurant’s shiny white table linens. I don’t want to be mean, but when will people understand the importance of the material? I must say, though, that her hair and makeup is divine.

Kate Winslet in YSL – Why all the blue, Kate? I feel like she wears a lot of blue shades. It doesn’t help that this dress isn’t so nice, in my opinion. I feel as though it would have looked better if the bottom part was one whole design and not half plain half whatever. Hair and makeup was top-notch though.
Leslie Mann in Pamela Roland – I don’t really like it. It’s not my style at all, but she doesn’t look bad. I’m just not a fan of the dress.

Marisa Tomei in Versace – Pleats, pleats and more pleats.. Overall, she looks really nice. But I’m just not feeling the dress. I don’t like the bottom part at all. It’s like they stitched together a bunch of ties to make it.

Melissa Leo in Badgley Mischka – The coppery bronze color is lovely against her skin. The dress is also classic and pretty on her. Women of a certain age can find it hard to wear some dresses, so they are sometimes subject to a limited number of styles.
Melissa George in Dolce & Gabbana – Melissa looks gorgeous. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look like this. Though the dress is not a favorite of mine, it’s still beautiful on her. She looks like a white budding flower.

Marion Cotillard in Dior Haute Couture – YES PLEASE! This is my favorite look of the evening. She looks gorgeous! A fabulous, gorgeous dress. Her hair is meticulously done, with perfect makeup. You should see her on stage. Fabulous! I adore her!

Miley Cyrus in Zuhair Murad – It looked like a heavy dress, and she admitted it to Ryan Seacrest. The dress has meticulous detail and it looks like it was inspired by fish scales. It was more fit for a nominee than an attendee. She looked elegant nevertheless.
Natalie Portman in Rodarte – Her dress was simple but with a beautiful mauve color. Rodarte have other more beautiful dresses, but Portman looks divine in this. Her makeup is gorgeous. I’ve never seen her look more beautiful.

Penelope Cruz in vintage Balmain – This is borderline wedding dress material.
Reese Witherspoon in Rodarte – The dress was not flattering on Reese. And though the colors are beautiful, the design wasn’t pretty.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Dior Haute Couture – SJP’s boobs are shoved so high up, they look like tennis balls. Otherwise, its a fabulous dress. One of the best.
Taraji P. Henson in Roberto Cavalli – Gorgeous! The antique-looking necklace was so beautiful with the dress. I wish she had worn her hair up, so that she would have upped the glamour factor.

Vanessa Hudgens in Marchesa – Noo.. I am very much a Marchesa fan, but this dress looks like a bridesmaid dress with an added fishtail. The original short version is much better, though still not one of my favorites.
Viola Davis in Reem Acra – I am anti shiny materials, I think I’ve said this before. Therefore this dress unfortunately disappoints me. In fact, it also irritates me.

Virginia Madsen in Kevan Hall – Elegant, simple and very classy. The neckline with the protruding angle gives it an edge and makes it more attractive. The color is also beautiful.
Meryl Streep in Alberta Ferretti – Thank you, Meryl, for defying my expectations, and arriving to the Oscars looking like a true star. Thank you.

Queen Latifah in George Chakra – I love her She seems like she’s a great buddy! She looked very glamorous and she sang beautifully too.
Tilda Swinton in Lanvin – Tilda. Wears. Lipstick. And looks good in it! Of course, trust Tilda to wear something not-so-Oscars material. But I reaaally liked it. In fact, I’ve come to love her unique sense of style.
